Pros
-Laid back, no micromanagement -8% match 401k -Good dental (top tier Delta) -Very talented co-workers -Great work/life balance -Good culture (for now)
Cons
-Low pay (can easily make 30%-100% more elsewhere for same experience/role in IT). -Benefits have been drastically cut back, making the already low pay noncompetitive. -Obliterated the retirement plus benefits (pre-tax 401k investments) and moved to a fake "pension", which is just a glorified savings account with no compounding interest. -Vastly changed PTO structure, eliminating PTO rollover. -Wiped out the bonus (has gone from 18% to 10% since I've been here). -Forcing IT to go back into office, despite vast swaths of the industry (and USAA's competition staying full remote). -Moved to a typical cost-cutting high-deductible HSA plan -- useless if you actually have any issues during the year. -Endless layers of clueless management and bureaucracy. -Giant soul-less monolithic concrete office with either giant cube farms or an open office plan with shared desks.
