Pros
They give a store discount.
Cons
Working for Ulta as a Salon Manager was difficult under the best circunstances. The company doesn't understand the relationship between the client and the stylist, and therefore provides no privacy between the actual store and the client in the salon. The atmosphere is a very well made Great Clips, but with very high prices. Clients don't tend to return because they don't connect with their stylists. They provide no receptionists and no waiting area. As the salon manager, you are held to a weekly quota of services, plus a week's worth of paperwork. If you try to offer any suggestions as to why this set up isn't working, you are branded as no being a "team player". It is all work and no reward. The salary is low- 34,000, and they find every reason they can not to give you a raise. I have nearly 30 years of experience as a hairdresser behind the chair, and I have owned my own salon and this company ground me right down in a litle more than 2 years. Their expectations are unresonable. I don't know who is advising them for running their salons, but I think I'd switch.
