Pros

Uproar PR features an experienced leadership team with a longstanding presence. As a remote-first company, it distinguishes itself by providing employees with access to Industrious, a perk often overlooked by other "remote-first" businesses. Moreover, career advancement opportunities abound, supported by clearly documented pathways outlining the steps necessary for progression within the company's ranks. As a mid-sized agency, it offers a conducive environment for fostering strong connections, providing ample opportunities to build lasting friendships among colleagues.

Cons

This isn't exclusive to Uproar, but working at a PR agency is demanding, and finding a healthy work-life balance can take time and effort.

Pros

I taught myself how to use Canva and CoverageBook.

Cons

Everything you are told is a lie. This starts with deceptions in the job description and throughout the hiring process. Once the job began, things only got worse. The onboarding deck presented was outdated and contained contradictory information. To this day, I am unsure of the practices the agency uses, as I heard from multiple individuals whom have risen through the ranks of different ways to complete the same task. The team structure is extremely mismanaged. Unless you are bringing in new business or securing media placements ten times a day for every client, senior leadership does not care about you. You are punished for not reaching unattainable marks and, often times, called out in front of the entire agency. And forget managing up and asking your supervisor for help! Even asking for something as simple as replying to a client email when you are bogged down in a timely project will not be taken care of. Clients were pleasant, but not what I expected. The majority are local to the Orlando area, where the agency is based. The agency has a strong tech focus as well. There is an assumption everyone is all hands on deck for CES, the tech trade show in Las Vegas, each year, even though this is never mentioned during the hiring process or up until Q4. Pay was minimal, at best. I took a pay cut for this position. They would not negotiate the offer. The benefits were abysmal. The vision insurance used to be Medicaid before it was rebranded a few years back. The health insurance did not cover prescriptions or co-pays. The laptop provided barely worked. I asked for a replacement charger, as the one provided sparked when I plugged it in and would charge intermittently. No response. The provided monitor did not hook up to the laptop with the cords provided, so I worked off of one screen the entire time. I should have listened to my gut and turned down the role.
