Pros

- nothing - I will not deny that you can make money, but this is a multi-level marketing scheme/pyramid scheme

Cons

I had a friend in high school who would post about these large checks he would get from "work". He eventually put me on to Vector Marketing, which was the fancier name for the sole job of selling Cutco products (overpriced knives). I naively joined, and I ran downstairs to tell my dad the good news that I got a job. I will never forget his entire face dropping with sadness and pain. He immediately told me it was a pyramid scheme just off of my initial explanation of the job. The UNPAID training was a few days. I think the only thing I remember was them telling us to observe the potential customer's background (via our customer video calls) to see how much they can afford. They had different "goals" where if you make a certain number of money, you can win a cutco product. We learned about each product and honestly all I could think about was their amazing spatula spreader. I really wanted it. We eventually had a group zoom meeting where we were tasked to go on mute and call up a bunch of our family and friends and ask them if they are interested in purchasing these knives. I am so unbelievably embarrassed that I did that. I called up every auntie and neighbor I had and I can even hear in some of their voices that they knew what was going on. Later on I had a meeting with my "manager". She had me download the Vector Marketing app, and then she proceeded with an exercise. She pulled up my contact list that she SOMEHOW obtained from me downloading the app (???) and she went through each and every person and had us mark whether or not that person could be a potential customer. SUCH an invasion of my privacy. I was honestly blown away and I actually started crying of discomfort. I hung up on my "manager" and quit. Weeks later I got a gift in the mail from my high school friend who introduced me to vector marketing. He sent me a note that said he was sorry that my experience was bad and that it ended the way he did. And then I look behind some bubble wrap and there it was. The spatula spreader. I didn't need any more closure after that. I'm coming here 4 years later to write this review because nothing about that was okay and I think these grown adults need to be held accountable. You are manipulating naive kids fresh out of high school to sell KNIVES to their family and friends. You talk about being your own entrepreneur or having your own business. This is NOT entrepreneurship. You know what you're doing.
