Pros

Whirlpool is an amazing company. They strive hard to provide quality products and to cater to family values. Their outlook on diversity in the workplace is top notch and they truly know how to take care of their employees.

Cons

Unfortunately, in trade customer support, as well as other departments throughout the company, you have to start through a temp agency. This has both pros and cons, however there is always very stiff competition to get hired on permanently and they only do this 2-3 times a year. So you could potentially work there at the same way for 2 years and not get hired on.

Cult-like relationships: if you didn't grow up in Benton Harbor...Your boss did. I was recruited based on more than 25 years of multifamily housing experience and long-standing industry relationships. After joining, I discovered a substantial portion of my responsibilities involved government and commercial laundry accounts, which were not my area of expertise and were not what I expected from the interview process. The company appeared to place greater emphasis on standardized account management than leveraging established customer relationships and industry networks. For professionals hired because of their market knowledge and connections, this may be frustrating.
