Pros

Not a lot of benefits. Mainly the best thing about the company is it is so obviously bad that you know to quit very quickly without much hesitation. Coworkers are fine. Actual work is fine when the president isn't there.

Cons

Contract wages and workings hours different from what was promised. I didn't sign the switch and bait contract upon joining. I did unpaid labor for the company while my start date was pushed back multiple times. Toxic working environment mainly from the company president. Employees leave en mass. The computer EPR system is broken, meaning the job will become impossible to do if not fixed. Communication with Bangladesh is poor - President doesn't respect or value his employees only picked them to pay a lower wage. Treats the people in Bangladesh as slaves - doesn't treat Tokyo employees much better. President has rage fits, yells and degrades employees, interviewees and customers - in his mind everyone is wrong except him. Former employees prank and mess up the operations of the company. Working Saturdays and holidays as well as 2 hours of self-study required is completely unreasonable on top of the expected overtime hours.

Pros

Only for those in dire need of money and have ample time.

Cons

The company takes 70-80% of the translation fee from its customers, and the translator only gets 20-30%. However, the translator is expected to do most customer-facing duties, such as sending business messages, handling requests and complaints regarding the company's system troubles (which are abundant), revising, unpaid additional translation, etc.

Pros

1. Stable Business 2. Secure Job

Cons

1. The CEO is a perfect simulation of how bad a CEO can be—almost as if he were a cyborg designed to test human patience. And trust me, he’s at the final level. 2. His English is an entirely new language. You’ll need to be highly innovative just to decode what he’s trying to say. 3. The employees here have mutated under the influence of the CEO’s bizarre behavior. Traditional leadership skills and empathy are completely ineffective in this environment. 4. Only take this job if you want to push your patience to its limits and challenge your composure and communication skills. 5. I can only assume he opened the BD office for fun—as a personal playground for his power trips. 6. He has been running his business for 26 years, so he’s technically not insane. But whatever goes on in his mind when dealing with BD people is beyond human comprehension. 7. The company's work culture is so unique that even the worst corporate horror stories would struggle to compete. If there were an award for innovative ways to make employees suffer, this place would be a strong contender.
