I have been working at Epic Games full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company as a whole takes care of you, good benefits, they are doing amazing things with the engine and game.

    Cons

Favoritism is definitely a thing here. Anything you say that management doesn't like could get you let go instantly. Very reactionary to gaming news and events, doesn't plan in advance, always crunching.

    Advice to Management

Some management could use classes on how to actually manage a team

I have been working at Epic Games full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I've worked at 8 companies in the game industry over a 20 year career, including two of the big four publishers. Epic is by far the least political, most principled, and most inspiring place I've been. The management group genuinely cares for the team, and they show it by offering every benefit under the sun.

    Cons

Epic is driven by an ambitious vision and works hard to make it a reality ASAP. The team moves fast, and work/life balance can suffer at times. Of course that's true of most game industry jobs, what's unique about Epic is that for many here the mission is worth working hard for.

    Advice to Management

Continue investing in larger teams to scale back workload, but don't sacrifice the culture of innovation at speed that got you here.

I worked at Epic Games full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Catered lunch, can wear what you want at your desk, snacks and drinks

    Cons

Horribly unorganized, will tell you one thing and it will be another behind your back, constantly changing proven procedures for no reason other than to do it, Let go of people without giving them a chance to correct an issue and then no replacing the agent and shifting the work load of the terminated agent to the rest.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing things up every other day. Decide what you are gonna do and set it in stone. You are causing undue stress to your agents and doing a disservice to players constantly changing up work flows and procedures. Stick with your word if you tell an agent something is ok then its ok. Give agent a chance to speak for themselves and be made aware of issues that are happening. No job have I ever worked has a company just let somebody go without at least speaking with them once and telling them what the issue is and what needs to be changed. Its very strange to be let go and then have to heard from a 3rd party what MAY have been the issue and having never been given a chance to fix it. Also lighten up some this job is not life or death. Its support for a video game, lame personalities and stern attitudes kill the fun of working at a video game company. There is no reason a job doing support for a video game company should be this extremely stressful. It might come as a shock but "firing to send a message" as I was told is not a good look and not a good way to get people to work harder. It instills fear and increases stress.

I worked at Epic Games full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free healthcare, food and unlimited PTO

    Cons

They work you to death, expect you to be 'on call' 24/7, culture is work-a-holic, non-stop, lots of stress and pressure which does not allow for proper work-life balance. If you have a family, kiss them goodbye because you won't be able to spend time with them anymore. Inexperienced management did not address the problems appropriately.
