Pros

Futureverse offers an incredible environment and a vision that is actually compelling and impactful. It's corporate yes but filled with open minded, caring and human oriented people with strong personal values. You're able to make an impact in any role and propel into opportunities that other work environments usually wouldn't provide including being a part of projects with world class brands, partners, innovations. Working here is very fulfilling at the pace at which things are being built and achieved. Ideas are heard and you're surrounded by the highest calibre of skill and passion in a bleeding edge industry which is constantly inspiring. The super flexible work hours are great for work life balance, managers all tend to operate with trust. Also the pay is pretty good.

Cons

It's a tough, fast paced work environment. No chill which might not be everyone's cup of tea. This is made up for with the flexible hours and remote work but delivery expectations are high. Processes are still needing improvement but this is to be expected in a new company trying to do things different and better. Also not much room for entry level skillsets due to the above.

Pros

Used to have lots of crypto bro parties involving a lot snow, not so much now that the market is doing poorly. The office has a nice coffee machine.

Cons

Lack of Clear Strategy and Overcomplicated Processes: The company suffers from a lack of a cohesive strategy, leading to overcooked processes that require everything to undergo stringent scrutiny. Despite being constantly urged to increase productivity, the absence of a well-defined strategy causes the metaphorical boat to drift aimlessly, resulting in inefficiencies and wasted efforts. Uncertainty about the Company's Direction: Employees are left in the dark about the company's actual goals and objectives. This lack of clarity creates a sense of confusion and a perception of an overwhelming workload without a clear purpose or direction. Excessive Micromanagement and Diminished Leadership: Top-level management exhibits heavy micromanagement tendencies, undermining the authority of competent VP leaders and leaving the workforce feeling uneasy. Highly qualified employees find themselves subjected to unnecessary oversight, resulting in a demoralizing and disempowering work environment. Limited Career Growth and Job Stability: It is evident that the founders are more focused on cashing out and taking the company public, rather than fostering career growth opportunities for their employees. This lack of investment in talent development leads to diminished prospects for advancement and raises concerns about job stability, with many employees expecting to leave the company within two years. Misleading Remote Work Policy: Despite the company claiming to offer remote work options, employees based in Auckland are practically required to work from the office, leaving little flexibility for those facing genuine difficulties in commuting or remote work capabilities. Prevalence of Nepotism: The company suffers from a significant issue of nepotism, with underqualified individuals securing positions due to their personal connections with the founders. Nepotism hires are seemingly untouchable, creating an unfair and unmeritocratic work environment. Unconventional and Questionable Company Culture: One of the founders' beliefs in aliens and crystals, and the company's invitation of a guest speaker to discuss such topics, raise concerns about the organization's overall culture and its impact on workplace norms. Poor Compensation and Altered Contracts: Salaries are below industry standards, and recent contract changes have effectively eliminated overtime pay, despite employees having worked demanding hours in the past. Such alterations can be seen as unfair and demotivating for the workforce. In conclusion, this company presents several challenges and red flags that may impact the overall job satisfaction and professional growth of its employees. Prospective candidates should consider these concerns carefully before accepting any job offers or committing to a long-term career with the organization.
