Pros

GPEx attracts and recruits highly talented and passionate staff. The organisation has a strong history of impact and quality work in the primary care sector, including its legacy in GP training, delivery of high-quality CPD education courses and events, and contributions to research.

Cons

Leadership struggled with communication, both among themselves and with staff. During my time there, the company went through constant turnover of employees, managers, and shifting visions. I was reassigned to different teams and given multiple new titles, but the changes mostly amounted to added responsibilities without clarity or direction. Unfortunately, the lack of a consistent strategy has led to the loss of talented staff with valuable industry knowledge. Compensation was inconsistent, with some staff being paid very well while others were underpaid for their workload and level of expertise. Professional growth opportunities are not possible with the current top heavy organisational structure. At times, it felt as though certain managers were more focused on posturing than on addressing the real challenges the company was facing.
