Tyrannical Work Culture!

Pros

Work from Home is a facade. Because the CEO will create situations where you feel guilty about not coming to office.

Cons

- Toxic work culture, The CEO is adamant, toxic and insults people in group meetings. - Utmost Disrespect of employees by demeaning them in front of entire team. - The CEO thinks that giving salary per month has given him the authority to consider the employees as laborers with no personal life. - If you consider a long leave (HOLIDAY) or ask for a raise make sure you bring a jacket when you come back to work because you will be given a "COLD SHOULDER " and immense pressure which will eventually make your life hell. - if things go bad it is the employees fault and if things go right then the credit is taken by the CEO - Its a jail for a creative person and cannot consider this a gaming studio. Games2win will be a great place to work if the CEO is replaced.

As the CEO and Founder, I must say sorry for hurting you. The "salary" reference mentioned is correct. For the past 23 years, we have NEVER missed a salary date (even by 1 day), which has probably made me vain. I just wanted to let you know that I won't mention this again. About the leaves, we follow what the holiday calendar allows us. What upset you? Games2win is one of the rare profit-making Internet Mobile Businesses in India, and yes, it is demanding AND rewarding. So many of our employees who have been with us for 7-10+ years are testimony to that (and the ones that keep returning). In any case, we will strive to improve and become better! Many thanks for your insights, and best of luck!

Pros

Subsidised food Nice colleagues Good for Interns

Cons

- Not defined job responsibilities/roles (You might be hired as someone else but you will do the work of some other profile or whatever will be allotted to you and you will not be allowed to do anything about it) - Less importance to an individual's career while being in the company - Higher authorities get hyper and wont let you speak if you contradict their viewpoint - Managers not supportive enough to stand by you in front of their seniors and anywhere (putting the blame on you and getting away with it when it is not even your fault) - Not enough guidance from the managers - Very old and conservative work culture (expected to sit on your desk all time, not allowed to take breaks etc) - Not flexible - You can not question your seniors (that's what I was told by my manager here) - People shouting on juniors in front of everyone - Deduction of leaves and if you dont have earned leaves then deduction of salaries if you come late but no extra time payment after office hours even if your own manager has asked you to stay for work after office hours and even if you had finished the assigned work of the whole day - It lives in a virtual myth which might have worked 10 years back but might not work now.

Pros

Colleagues are the best, I guess the only good thing here

Cons

- Compensation for work: You won't be paid anything for the extra hours that you have to work. But your salary will be deducted even if you are late by a minute. You will have no work- life balance. Don't even think of challenging this unless you wanna leave the job. - Creative Ideas: Oh wow, these are not even welcome here. Whatever the CEO says is final. Why are people of different skills hired for then? You're literally gonna be a worker here, just following orders. - Expendability: Employees are expendable here. Doesn't matter if you're newly joined or working for years, if you've irked the management they will find a reason to remove you. I've seen so many colleagues leave during my work period here. The attrition level is incomparable. Then there's the notice period of 3 months( yes that long). It just shows their inability to hire new people. - Attitude towards employees: Employees are shouted at and insulted by the CEO in front of everyone for the smallest of mistakes (even the ones who've just joined a week ago). It's a blame game here, you're are gonna be blamed for everything that went wrong. Management will not support you even if it was their decision that caused the problem. Also no recognition of people who are actually doing their jobs. - Indecision: There will be no proper decision for things that need to be implemented in a project. This will be the case for every project up until the day of release. - Salary: Very less compared to other companies even when the company is doing good. I know someone will reply to this review and say that we do not lure employees by salary or bribe them. Dude we don't want extra money.. just pay what we deserve. I think I have more to say, but you get the gist here. Be smart!

We are sorry for the experience you had. Having said that, isn't it amazing that you worked “for more than three years” in a place you despised so much? What motivated you do to so? Given the acute demand for talent in gaming, you could have gotten a job anywhere else if you wished? Sorry to sound a bit direct, but your review seems very unfair and unjust for an employer with whom you spend 'more than three years'. Now, let me share our part of the story. We are very tolerant employers. We don't 'hire and fire' (another reason why we don't pay obnoxious salaries that are inflated and then get deflated as per market movements). We let employees get better while suffering their mistakes in the hope that we all do better one day. If that doesn't happen after three years, we request the employee to move on. Also, on some points: - Yes, what the CEO says is final! That's what a CEO is hired to do! - We pay Industry salaries that are sustainable. In the past 20 years of operations, we have survived and thrived for one reason and one reason alone - we understand what is realistic to pay (and charge). Many startups come into the market with hot funds, hire professionals just to build MVPs or get another round of funding. They pay weird salary hikes to achieve that. 98% shut down; they don't pay pending salary and leave the employee with an 'inflated salary slip' that no one in the market will pay ever again. That's mental trauma for an employee (to be told that he is not worth that much). We at Games2win don't do all this. I would end my requesting to you reflect on what made you stay for 3+ years and then when you are in a stoic frame of mind, actually list what we both could have done to make the relationship last longer. You say 'the attrition rate in incomparable' - Well it is!! We have scores of employees who have been around for 20-15-10-7-5 years! It is 'incomparable'. Sorry anyway, good luck and God bless.
