Pros
The team I worked with were really friendly, very easy to warm to and work with. The students are also really great to teach. Great department manager.
Cons
Lack of clarity from senior management. Come every year there is uncertainty about student numbers and therefore hours for employees. This meant HR talking about redundancies/paycuts which was odd since that the college had hired 7 new people that year for the same department... Felt like at times the "left hand was not speaking to the right hand" as it were, with regards to higher management and the rest of the college. Be prepared also to work outside of your subject area. or across different campuses (Alton and South Downs)
