Pros
Colleagues and peers are/were a friendly bunch but quick tell tales. People falling out is constant as the head office is staffed full of youngsters. A manager had a reputation for giving jobs to ladies who were pleasing on the eye. Even if they were poor at the role or had no credible experience to bring to the company. Shame as there was some hardworkers there.
Cons
HR are there to shoot you down, not to support you. You are expected to succeed after being thrown into the deep end of an already failing system and are then disciplined for this. If you have a health concern which may arise, they will not believe you unless you are literally dieing in front of them. They will refuse reasonabl e adjustments if they don't believe you. They also seek NO help at all in HR on how to support staff who are having personal difficulties. No bonus, no recognition, no motivation. The experience working with this company has literally ruined my life for reasons beyond my control, and their lack of care for their staff. This is HR and not managers. Heartbreaking when you know you couldn't help your situation. I had family problems and was told to 'remove myself from the situation' because it looked bad on me. The managers do their best, but those in the ivory tower of HR will ruin you.
