I have been working at HubSpot full-time

    Pros

I'm almost 1 year in, and my experience has been very positive. Well known for 'The HubSpot Culture Code', you'd be forgiven for thinking that's just a 'web-document' or something that's only externally facing. You'd be wrong!...don't get me wrong, during my interview period, that was a very interesting piece of the assessment I was making myself, but to see how it shows up, that focus on our people and their true well-being, in small ways every day is amazing. I'm in Sales, and the absolute focus of senior leadership, and the entire business, is to promote and enable rep and team success. From how we target people, to the broad support structures in place, to help you grow and win, its feels almost a little innovative, even special. It feels like a great time to be here, with so many pieces of the jig-saw falling into place - our product, the growth strategy, the ambition driving us and the people here now and joining every month, all this excite me for the future. I can't not mention how the company moved us to fully remote since March, the People Ops and Logistics teams did an incredible job, and while we focus on our people, our partners and our customers, the business has proved incredibly resilient - again, down to how people work, because of how they're treated IMO. Are you in Tech Sales, or any Sales for that matter?!....or do you want to explore a career change into Sales? Look at HubSpot, we try to hire the right person, not fill a role. Lots of roles available right across the org. too - give it a look

    Cons

Honestly, no....I'm sure I'll find something, but 1 year in, nothing!

I have been working at HubSpot full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Way too many pro's! Flexible working environment, adaptable company particularly during COVID, great career opportunities, benefits and remunerations, huge investment in the success of their employees, unparalleled working culture

    Cons

Extremely rigorous interview process - this is not necessarily a bad thing, as it is a testament to HubSpot's investment in their future and current employees, but most if not all interview questions are heavily situational and behavioural based questions. 5 Interviews in total, one interview being 3 hours over zoom. Again - not necessarily a bad thing - preparation is key!

I have been working at HubSpot part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This isn't my first review of HubSpot but my circumstances have changed since I last wrote and I feel compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experiences. I have a chronic illness and my health has deteriorated significantly over the last year. At any other company, this would have seriously affected my day-to-day working life. It may even have meant I couldn't continue working. But at HubSpot, where adaptability is deeply ingrained into the company culture (which includes flexibility and remote working), my working life has continued without any glitches or stress. In fact, I would go so far as to say the accommodations HubSpot made for me reduced any stress levels. I was allowed reduce my hours to work a 4-day week. I was allowed work from home as much I wanted (which importantly, never impacted how I work or my connection to my colleagues). The nature of the work I was given was adapted to suit my circumstances. I don't have to ask for permission to attend medical appointments and I'm never made feel like I'm asking for special treatment. I'm simply trusted to do my job, which I'm still very capable of doing, just not necessarily at an office desk, between the hours of 9 and 5. I'm also still very much challenged every day with new responsibilities and tasks, which is very important to me because I don't ever want to stop learning. It's important to mention that even before my health deteriorated, I had the same flexibility to manage my home life and parenting, when it comes to things like children's doctors appointments for example. As well as those practical things, one important thing to mention is that I felt comfortable opening up about my circumstances and being 'my authentic self' at HubSpot, something I could never do at other companies. I know many people who work in chronic pain or with some other personal weight on their shoulders and don't feel able to talk to their employer about it for fear of how it might affect their career. At HubSpot, while I can't speak for every employee, my experience has been that HubSpot wants to help employees to their jobs however they can and colleagues are empathetic and understanding. Aside from my personal circumstances, I've been very impressed with how HubSpot has dealt with the Covid crisis, always putting employees, customers and partners before profit. They acted quickly and the support and resources they provided while we all worked from home while parenting was fantastic. Don't get me wrong, they were still tough months for everyone, but it really felt like we were all in it together, helping each other get through each day. And leadership were incredibly transparent at every stage so we knew where we stood from day 1, with regular updates as offices closed etc. I'm not sure they could have handled it any better. As an ally, I'm so proud to work for a company that walks the walk when it comes to social issues. There's always work to be done of course, but it feels like there's a genuine passion to do the right thing and a thoughtful process involved to identify real and impactful actions that we can take as a company to be better allies and support minority communities, both within and outside of HubSpot. Leadership are also very transparent when it comes to the efforts Again, full transparency, I'm speaking as an ally here, not a member of a minority group. So all of that, along with the incredibly smart colleagues I work with every day, the top-notch perks and the fast-pace (which I love), I highly recommend working here.

    Cons

Over 3 years in and I still can't think of any. Except that if working in a fast-moving environment isn't your thing, HubSpot might not be for you. For me, that's a Pro though, because it's nearly impossible to get bored at HubSpot and the days fly! It's also really interesting, varied work too so that makes a difference.

I have been working at HubSpot full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Humble: There are no egos at HubSpot. Everyone is genuinely working to solve for the customer first, the team second and themselves last. We all know that we grow better together. Empathetic: Leaders at HubSpot really care about their teams. There is no finger pointing when things go wrong, instead everyone just jumps in together and solves the problem. Adaptable: The company's response to COVID has been amazing. Tons of communication, flexibility and rapid evolution. How many other companies hired teachers to teach multiple classes almost every day from March-June? Remarkable: I have never felt like I have been surrounded with so much talent in my career. I am honestly floored by the quality of people that I work with every day at every level of the company. The people here are not only amazing already, but everyone is pushing to be better every day. Transparent: Everything is shared with the whole company. EVERYTHING. Board slides, sales results, financial data, etc. It's all there because HubSpot leadership trusts employees can handle knowing the truth and because they know that this transparency is how we all can succeed together.

    Cons

HubSpot does not pay top of market on salaries. I believe that is intentional because it pulls in people who believe in the mission vs those who are purely financially motivated. It also gives everyone an incentive to maximize enterprise value and increase the stock price (every employee is a shareholder).

This review is so thorough and helpful to our candidates, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to write something up in such incredible detail, truly, I'm so grateful. And I think your push on compensation is fair and something we need to continue to look at, so thanks for calling that out and for articulating specifics on how we lead with HEART! -Katie

I have been working at HubSpot full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The ultimate perk is who you get to work with. My colleagues at HubSpot are on a different level of aptitude while maintaining incredible humility, transparency and helpfulness. I honestly have never and probably will never work with better people. At the same time the business is still in a serious growth phase and as long as you can keep adding value your career will grow at a rapid rate and give you learnings and experience that will open up opportunities for the rest of your career.

    Cons

One thing is i would love to see us do more for non-profits. I have seen a lot of other companies have comprehensive non-profit programs, let's do one.
