You get to work on large projects and gain experience.
Cons
There seems to be no career growth at this company unless you are a white male.

Horrific place to work
28 Oct 2020 - Anonymous Employee in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
High pay. Nice office attached to a mall.
Cons
- Excessive overtime that is not compensated - Extremely sexist, outdated leadership in the Dallas office - Abusive work environment - Leadership in the Dallas office is beyond toxic. I was a witness to, and on the receiving end, of abusive language, unfair treatment (men are treated far better here, although still treated poorly), and unrealistic expectations. As deadlines approached, I was diligent about following up with team members on outstanding items. This resulted in me being told to be "more flexible with deadlines" and "just figure it out". I worked upwards of 80 hours a week and my boss knew and would offer a false sense of support, but not be willing to help when I actually needed it. My workload was unrealistic and I was not paid overtime. I often worked weekends, nights and holidays. Leadership in the Dallas office refuses to adjust to the times and is extremely toxic. Employees are talked down to, literally yelled at, given unrealistic expectations, and differing opinions are absolutely not tolerated. The pay is high, which is a selling point, but make no mistake, the money is NOT worth the way you will be treated and overworked.

Potential for Great Opportunities, Beware of Context
18 Mar 2021 - Assistant Project Manager in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Broad portfolio of project types Strong presence for Sports, Higher Education, and Performing Arts Growth is dependent on individual drive and capacity
Cons
Poor leadership and team management Poor internal communication between project team Minimal effort given towards growing younger talent Must be willing to travel or relocate for greater opportunities Resilience to integration of newer technologies, very little incentive given to independent teams to enforce technology usage.

Used to be great but suffering growing pains
26 Mar 2016 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The work the company performs is impressive and something I'm always proud to share. There are tons of talented people within the organization and you can learn a lot from talking to them. Hours are flexible when needed and the benefits are top-notch compared to many other companies out there. Support services departments such as accounting, payroll and HR are always there to answer questions and offer support when needed and always friendly and helpful.
Cons
Due to a somewhat recent acquisition with a much larger firm, the climate of the organization has changed. The company went from a family owned business to part of a large global corporation with all of the red tape and bureaucracy that comes along with it. Job security uncertainties are causing talented people to leave the company.

Great Benefits, and potential for Great Teams
7 Jun 2018 - Project Engineer in Dallas, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. The benefits that AECOM Hunt offers for my family and I are great. 2. The project teams have the potential of being great when everyone respects each other. 3. Overtime is available, but has to be earned. 4. Great opportunity to move up in the company with enough determination and proving yourself, it can happen fast. 5. Upper management tries to keep you as close to your home as possible when sending you to projects. 6. When upper management sees that you are an asset to the company, they invest in you.
Cons
1. Some teams have bad leadership or leader is just disrespectful. 2. Sometimes project demands more and it's tough to balance home and work. 3. There's never a good time to take time off.
