Pros

Really smart people. Smart researchers and news consultants. Although the TV News division is struggling, the Dallas office is doing amazing, ground breaking research in the package goods area.

Cons

Scary and horrible place to work. Long time employees just disappear and you don't know why. Head of NY office-gone, Head of LA office - gone. Head of News division - gone. Memos from COO saying they cannot cover payroll and don't have the funds to hire new people. Not sure who wrote the other two recent reviews, but those do not reflect the feelings of the rank and file. It seems like the President, who is the son of the founder, does not care about the companies legacy or stellar reputation. This was once a great company of talented people and integrity. Now they send in the senior people to sell a project but then dump all the real work on the junior associates. High employee turnover and even higher rate of dissatisfied clients who only do business once with this company. I, along with many of my peers are looking to get out of this crazy place before my payroll check bounces.

Pros

Smartest people, who work hard and really care about doing a good job Flexibility, very few micro-managers Ability to craft custom solutions for clients--not too much red tape Great clients Service/sales commission that rewards you for taking on or selling Good recent additions to senior management--but skeptical of how much influence they can have

Cons

Terrible, vague, far-reaching, poorly written, and very frequently legally pursued non-compete (not correlated with cause) Serious issues at the most senior level--including ethical concerns Top-down decisions driven by ego and reputation and "connections," not quality of work Bias toward sales team as the "talent," lack of respect for what individual service people bring to the table Policy changes poorly executed and communicated Assumption that no one can compete with what Magid offers Misconception that basic market research tools and techniques are special/proprietary Long-standing company mission completely focused on profit
