I have been working at MultiCare Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a big hospital, so you get a wide exposure to clinical situations
    Workers are very friendly
So many units you can choose from if you get bored in one

    Cons

    constantly under staffed.
Management is pushing hard on staff, cutting costs, while expecting more

I have been working at MultiCare Health System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers. Most supervisors and managers are down to earth, remember working in the trenches, and are easy to talk to. Easier HR process than providence by far.

    Cons

Poorly designed ER. No tube system so over frequent trips off unit. Easily overrun with patients when other downtown hospital diverts (Deaconess virtually never diverts even when it should).

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at MultiCare Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Competitive Salary
Growing geographic footprint with ample opportunities.

    Cons

Work-life balance is not important in the organization. There is no input from frontline staff regarding patient care and operations.

    Advice to Management

Work collaboratively with clinical staff. If you want to develop a brand image like Starbucks then treat employees as if they are valued (like Starbucks). For example, give part-time employees benefits like Starbucks does. View employee longevity and loyalty as an asset rather than an expensive employee that can be replaced with a cheaper newly-minted one. Incorporate current best practices for governance and leadership.
