Pros

- Opportunity to work on complex subsea systems with global clients like Shell, BP, and Equinor - Strong focus on engineering standards (API, ISO) and structured documentation - Collaborative design reviews with cross-functional teams across geographies - Access to advanced CAD tools and PLM systems (Teamcenter, Windchill) - Exposure to full product lifecycle—from concept to manufacturing handover

Cons

- Limited visibility into project management or upstream decision-making for design engineers - Career growth can feel siloed unless actively pursued across functions or geographies - Offshore-client timelines often override internal innovation cycles - Knowledge sharing across product lines (e.g., manifold vs. tie-in systems) is minimal

Pros

You’ll make money here. You’ll get a lot of overtime here

Cons

It’s not a place for black men to work unless you kiss up to them. You have to be cool with supervisors to get promotions. You can’t just show up and do your job you have to be friends with everyone. Co workers tell on you for the slightest reasons. There’s someone always watching you at all times
