Pros

The little pros we did have are now taken away by TheScore leadership.

Cons

Penn bought out TheScore and somehow TheScore took over the entire company. This company used to be an amazing place to work, and now it’s hard to even find motivation to show up. The culture here was amazing before TheScore takeover. We have lost most of our genuine employees due to this merge and TheScore doesn’t care at all. We used to have monthly Uber eats credits, office massages, and mental health days, but TheScore has gotten rid of all of those. Which is funny because they’re still listed under all job listings. How are you going to lie to potential new employees? They do not care about their employees at all - we’re just a number to them now. It’s extremely saddening to see how fast this company has declined since Jon Kaplowitz left. Wish we never bought out TheScore because it has ruined working here for all Penn employees. This company went from feeling like a close family environment, to a very hostile corporate place to work. Instead of making changes to help with employee morale, they just get rid of the ones who complain. Would not recommend getting a job here

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. As an increasingly important part of PENN’s overall business, our interactive division continues to expand, develop and evolve along with the rapidly growing online betting industry. Bringing together our immensely talented interactive teams across theScore and PENN Interactive into a new organizational structure has best positioned us for long term success, and has created additional opportunities for our team members. While we’ve experienced tremendous growth over the past few years, maintaining a supportive, open and inclusive work culture has always been a priority. Throughout, we’ve maintained an open-door policy that encourages employees to provide ideas and honest feedback to their managers and leadership. We welcome diversity of thought and opinion and strive to be transparent with our communications.

Pros

Fully remote; When the benefits still existed: Uber One Account and monthly $$$ toward Uber Eats, Weekly Massages, Quarterly Mental Health Day. Sadly I believe the Score removed these benefits once they took over.

Cons

Score Leadership made massive sweeping changes to the entire PI org. and our processes. The Director level was completely overran and replaced by members of the Score without a full vetting of roles and responsibilities. Agile was completely dropped and replaced with a PMO structure by a leadership team with no prior experience working alongside Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters. New leadership is very much top-down, do as I say. During the transition to the Scores leadership team, PI Leaders were kept in the dark about most decisions and put on the bench in order to reduce possible tension and disagreement. What made PI great was the opportunity to have healthy debates and drive change. That has been seemingly lost in this transformation as we now have to follow orders from the top with minimal transparency and reason. Deadlines are created without the use of metrics or team history, and engineers are pushed to the brink in order to meet these false deadlines time and time again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. As an increasingly important part of PENN’s overall business, our interactive division continues to expand, develop and evolve along with the rapidly growing online betting industry. Bringing together our immensely talented interactive teams across theScore and Penn Interactive into a new organizational structure has best positioned us for long-term success, and has created additional opportunities for our team members. We work in a fast-paced business and pride ourselves on the team’s demonstrated ability to quickly and efficiently launch products, develop new features and troubleshoot issues. In just a few years, we’ve grown our interactive division to be a technology and online gaming leader that now operates in 14 jurisdictions across North America. While we’ve experienced tremendous growth recently, maintaining a supportive, open, and inclusive work culture has always been a priority. We welcome diversity of thought and opinion, and strive to be transparent with our communications. To that end, we maintain an open-door policy that encourages employees to provide ideas and honest feedback to their managers and leadership. Lastly, PENN maintains comprehensive benefits packages across all of our properties and business units. We work closely with corporate leadership to ensure our offering remains competitive. Do Not Work Here

Pros

There are not any pros for this company. PI used to be a fun place to work at before theScore merge. The pros that had existed, had been taken away within the past year.

Cons

Well where do I even start...the pay is not livable. You're better off working at Starbucks, at least the atmosphere would be sweet. The leadership here is atrocious and full of lies. They say that there are "opportunities" in about every meeting, but you'll never see any. The management is full of try-hards, who do not care about you whatsoever. TheScore came along and absolutely ruined the fun vibes that Penn had to offer. No wonder why everyone is leaving left and right...it is definitely not the "Best Place to Work". If you're looking for an entry level job, look elsewhere and avoid this place. The communication is horrible and if you ask one person a question, they likely will not know the answer, then direct you to 50 other people who don't know the answer. As for TheScore's side of this, the employees there should be more familiar with EVERYTHING that goes on in Barstool Sportsbook. Hands down the worst sportsbook and our customers have said that over 100 times in chat.

The interactive division continues to take on an increasingly important role in PENN’s overall business, and combining the talented workforces of theScore and Penn Interactive has us best positioned for success in the fast-paced, highly competitive sports betting and online gaming industry. It’s an exciting time for our company, with major initiatives planned for 2023 and a busy product roadmap. Above all, we’re committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming work environment and value open, transparent communication. Throughout our growth, we’ve maintained an open door policy that encourages employees to provide ideas and honest feedback to their managers and leadership. We maintain a compensation and benefits package that is competitive within our industry. In fact, we recently updated our benefits in several important areas, such as increased parental leave, tuition reimbursement, physical wellness reimbursement and access to mental health benefits.
