Pros

5 years ago, management and staff had their head well above water. Staff worked well, management were efficient and the club was a fun place to be. In the last year, however, there are very, very little positives of this workplace. I mean, sometimes you get the occasional freebie.

Cons

Don’t seem to think about their choices before they make them. They will change the uniform at the employee’s expense yearly. Make one manager ‘redundant’ and expect existing employees to pick up those tasks at no extra renumeration. With limited staff, the bar is very low for new hires, making the job of other staff more difficult. Do not address bullying and harassment claims adequately. The least diverse workplace I have ever experienced. You will find that most employees that are not white are in the cleaning team, interpret that as you will. The board is exclusively middle-aged or senior white men, meaning that they will never act in the interests of those that differ from themselves.

Pros

-Consistant shifts -Ok pay for hospitality, bonuses on weekends -Great training opportunities, builds skills in hospitality -Ok EAP for employees well-being

Cons

-Overworking, low staff in most clubs especially penrith often employees will be worked overtime, and go upwards of 7hrs without a break (questionably illegal). Even on days where this could be avoided, it isnt. -Staff are often cut down to save wages pushing other staff harder than necessary. -Leave, typically 1-2 months is required for any leave to be approved. Often teams are notified that no leave is avaliable for up to 9-10 months. (Questionably Illegal). With little to no negotiation. -Management is very poor at negotiating and communicating with staff surrounding any issues or just general work related situations. -HR department is notorious for struggling to negotiate and work with employees on personal issues or needs, further pushing staff to go out of their way to work.
