Pros

I worked at proco for a period of two years, during that time I was able to make decent money, but realistically I could have done that with any recruitment business. If you are a reasonably good recruiter, the same will be true for you

Cons

For anyone considering joining this company, take a look at the reviews on here. You will notice that approximately half of them talk about how amazing the culture is. The other half comment on what a terrible place it is to work. Seems a bit strange doesn't it? Well, I can tell you that while I was at the company, we were asked by members of the leadership team to write positive reviews on this website. I wouldn't say we were asked to do it against our will but... The company like to advertise on Linkedin about how quickly they are growing, yet revenues in every region are in freefall, and in some cases quite significantly. This may have something to do with the fact that recruitment companies need strong tenured people in order to succeed and grow . Unfortunately, in the case of Proco, these people continue to leave the business. Usually if staff members are happy and well looked after, they stay with their employers. People are generally quite open about sharing their experiences with this company so if you are considering a "career" with Proco, I would recommend reaching out to some past employees directly as they can give valuable insight into what it's really like to work there.

At this point I would normally thank someone for taking the time to write a review, but this seems quite vindictive. Firstly we do indeed ask our employees to review us on Glassdoor, it is what it is there for, and to be honest we have appreciated some of the constructive feedback from current or ex employees, as it has helped us improve a few things.. Secondly reviews on this site are anonymous, and we do not tell people what to write. I would also like to take this opportunity to point out that this year our group revenues increased from $15million USD to $20million USD. Finally, I would like to give you some advice back - If you want to be successful in your career I suggest you focus on you, and not on what we are doing as a business. You no longer work here and I for one, after reading the above think that is a good thing for both parties. As I have mentioned these reviews are anonymous so if you would like to discuss any of this directly then you know my email address.

New Year, New Lies

Pros

Hadn't checked the Glassdoor reviews in a while so I thought I would provide an alternative to all of the great reviews that Proco's HR/Marketing team have written lately. Company has been in a state of flux for about 2+ years now, multiple offices across the business have had their headcount reduce by half, some even more. There are a few outliers but generally speaking the headcount has been flat or (mostly) shrinking. The caliber of new hires has significantly declined. The business used to be able to attract experienced consultants, but now they can only seem to attract very low level recruiters, sell them the dream, and then scratch their heads when they inevitably fail and leave after 1 year because they are making no money. The companies financial performance has been so bad that they recently had to get a loan from a pretty dodgy looking "alternative lender". In keeping with tradition, they tried to spin this as positive news, but I am not aware of many companies who are performing well who have to solicit the services of a mezzanine lender to "re-balance existing credit facilities". I'm sure the company is making enough money for the management group to line their pockets however.

Cons

Culture is horrendous , toxic, and in some cases bordering on harassment. All you have to do is take a look at the lower ranking reviews on glass door, these are the ones that truly reflect the internal culture of the business. The fact that the marketing team are recycling the same BS reviews on here that they were touting 4 years ago speaks volumes. If you are a new recruiter looking to get a bit of work experience, then by all means join, keep your expectations very low, and use this as a platform to get some training and development, then leave when something better comes along. If you have more than 3 years of experience working in recruitment, steer well clear of this mess.

Avoid this Toxic work environment!

Pros

The stress helped me loose weight Learnt how to deal with bad managers

Cons

The management team lacked management experience and this really showed through. Expecting working hours of 40 a week as a bare minimum with non paid overtime ontop of this expected frequently and frowned upon if finishing and starting on time. Bullying from management on a daily basis. Contradicting and conflicting orders from management (mainly due to under trained staff wanting to assert their position) Work stations monitored via remote access to webcams to check up on employee Ilnness looked upon as inconvenience even if long term condition - disregard and disgust instead of support. Often sexist and inappropriate comments in office Drunken and drug fuelled nights out encouraged Employees badmouthed by CEO If discussing former employees they were refereed to as "dead to us" Childlike attitude in offices Toxic work environment Run by "lads" Disrespect for staff Also you may notice that other reviews are either damning or incredibly positive, the reason for this is that HR encouraged everyone to post a review on here as soon as they discovered some previous bad reviews. There was a checklist of those who hadn't completed their review and they were chased up on.
