Pros

Friendly colleagues Multiple specializations to work in Consists of morning exercise to keep fit Young and lively working environment Overseas IPO listings available Will be branching out to Hong Kong Convenient office location (middle of orchard)

Cons

Even though our annual leave is supposed to be an entitlement. we are required to hit out sales target before applying for the leave. We are also required to have our sales pipeline before applying for annual leave or else the leave will be rejected or there simply will be no response from those in-charge. There is a 20% pay cut if we do not reach our sales target It feels as though when higher management wants to get rid of an employee they don't just fire them instead they push the employee to a point they'd resign themselves. Probably so that they do not need to compensate them via severance. The leaders of the sub sections seem to always be gossiping and even to a point where they spread rumors and gossip about both employees and other leaders too. Our leaders constantly play the guilt trip game to a point where even though our working hours is stated as 0830-1730 almost no one leaves at 1730 including the temporary and contract staff. Keep in mind we are not paid OT and it's near impossible to meet sales target put in place by our higher ups unless we stay in after hours to do no pay OT and in some occasions we are even forced to stay back. There are SO many different kinds of meetings. Daily sales meeting, weekly sales meeting, monthly sales meeting, quarterly sales meeting. Upper management seem to never take any feedback from their employees. Even though there is a co-broke system. Upper management will move some numbers around to other peers who require sales. There is no trust between leader and employees. Any secrets or personal issue raised to a leader will spread like wild fire in the form of gossip among the leaders. There is so much favoritism and bias in the upper management. As long as they like certain employees they will keep them around and dismiss any poor performance. Employee retention is very low and upper management will easily let people go. Which makes us feel extremely expendable. In turn, there is a high employee turn over rate. Which makes one of my pros "Friendly colleagues" quite obsolete. Higher management don't seem to be able to sense employee morale and happiness. It feels as though they only worry about the sales.

Pros

- Learn to be independent - Steep learning curve - 360 degree recruitment - Exposure to a diverse range of industry

Cons

- Emotional blackmail and Gulit trip on employees for almost everything - No flexibility in taking leave - Company painted a picture where decent salary will be given if a certain amount of sales volume met however less than 50 percent of employees are meeting - Pay cut when certain sales target are not met to cover 'our own cost' - Even when employees work diligently and able to make a good amount of sales volume, commission will be pro-rated as company is 'not doing well' - Proration is happening more than every other month - Hard work is not properly rewarded - No incentive trips, proper incentives or awards given - Useless hall of fame with no actual rewards, best given are movie tickets - Only 10 percent of employees are earning a decent amount which includes managers - Expect you to work at least 2 to 3 years to see proper result - Expect us to cover costs for company's IPO - Smart loyalty fund to make employees invest in company stocks with own money, locking employees' money and work even harder for the company - Super high turnover rate, headcount decreasing steadily and we are expected to cover the cost of empty seats if not, proration of commission - 360 degree recruitment which includes debt chasing from clients - Even when clients do pay up ultimately but over the expected period, commission will not be given to us and salary will be deducted accordingly - No bonuses - No hire and fire, only lowering your self esteem and self worth by demoralising you.
