Pros

Great team: friendly, tight-knit, welcoming, supportive. Hands on: opportunities for on the ground training and events, where you see young women change and grow right in front of you. Magical and humbling. Mission: laser focus on building pipeline of women in political leadership. Professional Development: opportunities to learn new skills and gain exposure. Connections: opportunities to connect with all kinds of interesting networks (peer orgs, nonprofit world at-large, politics, business, media, and more). ***I was first and intern and then joined the staff. Many of the same opportunities for learning and networking were available to me as an intern. If I hadn't been so incredibly lucky to be looking for a job when Running Start was hiring years ago, I know the team would have gone above and beyond to find me an opportunity somewhere else, and I know I would have been in high demand as an alum of Running Start.

Cons

At the moment, Running Start is working to grow, which can be challenging at times.
