Startup environment with none of the benefits or payout

Pros

Can get experience in projects outside your area of expertise since you will be wearing multiple hats within the company within the first month.

Cons

It is run by a leadership group that doesn't understand basic marketing, copywriting, search engine, and technology concepts. They don't tell you that they are selling the company when they acquire a specific amount of policy in the interview. This means you won't get an equity payout and will be out of a job when they sell. No real work from home policy as they pressure you to come into an empty office or an over crowed setup because they want "faces" in office.

Pros

Very fast paced and some things were confusing at first. Everyone is extremely nice and I can bring my dog to work so that is a big plus. I enjoy the workplace so far.

Cons

I am vegan. The free meals every day have very limited vegan options.

Honest Review of working for SPOT

Pros

-- Hip and trendy offices -- Snacks, drinks, and other goodies always available -- Free breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you are in the Miami office (not so much in the West Palm Beach office) -- The CEO is young, but he is trying.

Cons

-- Terrible work culture -- President of the company is a dictator and micromanager -- Company motto is "Run through walls" but it's a demand, not something they inspire. -- During the hurricane last fall, they required their employees to come into the office even though they were being blasted by strong winds and rain. -- They run off great/strong leaders because the executives are threatened by people with experience. -- They force non-licenses sales people to sell insurance. -- They spread rumors and gossip about others in the office (leadership does). -- They really aren't an insurance carrier. They are just marketing a product from Crum and Forster and Pet Partners.
