Pros

-The product is really the best for barbershops

Cons

where do i start.... -You will work after hours, weekends, holidays, take no PTO and STILL not make ANY money -3 of 25 people hit quota. If you don't hit 60% quota, you make no commission. Only like 8 of 25 reps with even make a commission check. -Market is extremely difficult. Door to Door is easier than this -No growth. I felt like i was getting dumber the longer I was there. This place will not be helpful in future SaaS sales roles -management is horrible, constantly changing managers and territories and ROE and ZERO coaching. All they care about is working harder not smarter -when asked about process, they are very vague and don't give you answers. For example: 90% of rev is from inbound but is only going to 2 or 3 favorite reps. When you ask how the round robin works or where all these leads from champions go, they get upset and vague. Very suspicious. So essentially you have to self source your entire quota. (which no one can do, and why so many people leave) - They can't hire fast enough because so many people leave. -instead of developing reps, they focus on hiring new ones -horrible marketing strategy: they throw money away to dozens of instagram influencers that bring no revenue and if they do, management takes the deals for themselves or gives it under the table to favorite reps. All inbound leads are mistakes. Its people trying to get haircuts, not interested in Squire. This was an issue for the whole year + that I was there and no changes were made. -they fluff their numbers to the board to make them sound good. -they are extremely overvalued and strategy will fail long term. Stock in this company is completely worthless. (in addition: they offered stock in the offer and never gave me any) -the first thing they look for is "diversity" when hiring. Regardless of experience or skills... -in one of our first meetings we met with a "champion" and they ridiculed me in front of everyone simply on the way I look and eluded to me knowing nothing about the industry because I was the same race as him

Pros

- Most of the company is full of young aspirational people. - Very diverse company. - Opportunity to use new technologies.

Cons

- Flexible hours are a complete lie - you're expected to always be available and you'll be talking with HR if you're not. - 90% of engineering is offshore. - Company is overvalued like crazy, especially considering what a mess the internal structure is, and everything is put together with duct tape and string. - Communication between teams and departments is almost non-existent and nobody takes responsibility for anything.

Challenging industry

Pros

Free health benefits, flexible PTO, working from home and commission pay during ramping period.

Cons

This was the most difficult industry to sell in that I have ever experienced. You’re expected to work around the clock and on weekends, you are on the barbers time not yours which makes work life balance non-existent. You’re required to not only close deals but make cold calls all day on top of your meetings in the evenings. If you love being micro managed this is the place to be, although they state they don’t like to their constant phone calls and meetings say otherwise. If you become a favorite here you got it made because they will not hold you to the same requirements as the other reps. The client base is very unreliable, barbers for the most part are not business savvy and not respectful of your time but that is your fault not theirs. Unless you’re desperate I would not recommend working here at all.

Thanks for the feedback - it's difficult to read, but appreciated nonetheless. We totally understand the points around the market and its challenges. The lack of our target customer's technical expertise is generally a valid statement, and that's a major part of our mission! By leveraging technology, we're creating opportunities for barbers to grow their business. Over the last year, we've invested heavily in support and have been able to provide shops with little to no technical knowledge hands-on support through onboarding and post-go-live. Your point regarding training is one that we've received consistently, and we are actively launching programs to develop and grow our teams skills and expertise. We've made great strides in implementing performance management programs and engagement surveys to better understand what's working - and, perhaps more importantly, what's not. We hope you've been able to find an opportunity that was more aligned with your goals, and if you ever want to revisit an opportunity with SQUIRE, we've come a long way. Thank you!
