Pros

The people I worked with on my level were really nice people but that's not to be accredited to the company because that was due to their own personal nature.

Cons

When you enter your first day of work the person who trains you makes everybody sign a contract, before you do anything else, which states that you must work 2 weeks training for the company and if you do not meet the company’s expectations or decide to leave then you have to cover training costs per day - which is the exact amount of money that you earn per day at this company. AKA you don’t get paid for the time that you have spent working there. They have a reputation for sacking people during the training period because this makes the employee believe that Search Point UK do not have to pay them and they have essentially got free labour. Due to this within the training weeks you are under an unbelievable amount of pressure because nobody wants to work 9-5 in a soul sucking job and not get paid – this caused me a lot of stress. I have spoken with previous employees of Search Point UK and they have been sacked before the training period ended so they did not get paid, one of them took an early finish because she was ill and they let her continue until the last day of the training period and then sacked her so they did not have to pay her. The training lasts all of 2 hours maximum (I'm being generous here) where they read the script to you and show you how to log in and out of the system. Then you are put on the phone after these 2 hours (working for the business no longer training, but yet you have signed a contract saying you are being trained for 2 weeks) cold calling businesses reading from a script where you are trying to sell a free trial with Search Point UK to place small businesses as an independent company offering the services of Google my Business, later down the script you have to mention to the customer that it costs 249+VAT per year. You are not allowed to allow the customer to go about their day unless you have provided them with 3 objections. Many of the people that you call have already been called by Search Point UK - some customers even said that they had been called the week prior to me calling them, on one occasion a customer said they had been called by my colleague the day before. Customers ask if you can take their phone number of the list and this is impossible because there is no way that you can do that as there is no button to do so, thus the customer gets called again. During the 'training' weeks you are given targets to achieve high targets. At times you will call companies where the owner of the company has recently passed away and you are asked to ask the customer you can speak to somebody that can make decisions on behalf of the business which to me is disgusting behaviour as the person on the other side of the phone is bereaved. After the break you have or when you first start the shift the person who trains you stands in the middle of the room and speaks to the members of staff about the job and they tell you not to listen to the customer and just go through your script – if the customer speaks that’s when you give them an objection and continue with the script. The managers listen in on your calls and shout at you across the room to push the sale which makes it incredibly hard to stick to the script, which later on you will be pulled to one side and told off for not sticking to the script. The job description when I applied stated it was a fun working environment but it really wasn’t it was incredibly stressful you have to take one call immediately after another and it’s hard to collect yourself when it’s so fast.

HORRIBLE PLACE TO WORK

Pros

decent pay if you don’t get sacked on your first week

Cons

Horrible place to work, I would give no star if I could! Falsely advertised on indeed for being a great working environment and having great bonus schemes. What you are doing here is COLD CALLING small businesses, and attempting to sign them up on google my business ( when you google a business and the address, contact numbers etc come up ) even though 99% of the businesses called are already on there! You are not allowed to hang up the phone unless you have objected a minimum of 3 times and pretty much tried to argue with the customer to get the sale. It is target driven with targets being very unreachable and oh yeah, If you don’t meet targets or if you have an off day you will get sacked for sure! They hire 4-6 people EACH week and NONE last the full week they either leave because of how bad the job is or because they have been sacked on their second day! It’s a joke, the company cold call businesses and the first step is a free 30 day trial for the google my business, the next step is they call after 30 days to see if they want to buy the management of their google my business page for £249 + VAT for the year- of course most people say NO and if they say no, THEY STILL KEEP THEIR PAGE ON GOOGLE! and after another year they call the business back up and say “ oh a year ago we called regarding the 30 day free trial for google my business and you didn’t want to carry on with the year and the payment so we took your page down, well we thought we did but it turns out you’d page didn’t actually come down and it’s been up there’s for the past year.” THEN they continue to give the customer FALSE statistics on their page for example ‘ 6200 people visited your website through the listing ‘ or ‘1530 called your business through the listing ‘ and it’s ALL LIES! Not to mention they DO NOT give you proper training, I’d say maybe 2 hours IF that. Also when you’re on the phone you will have your managers listening in and shouting at you ( which is off putting when you’re on a call arguing your way to a sale ) you are literally bullying customers and tricking them into a google listing for google my business EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ALREADY ON THEIR. the only pro I suppose is they pay you well! ONLY IF YOU STAY LONG ENOUGH TO GET A DECENT PAY HAHAHAHAHA
