I just did the math the other day and Starschema is already my longest employer I've been with - and I'm not planning to leave any time soon. I could go on and on about what are the things I like, but instead I just want to highlight one thing which I think also drives many of the other pros as well: the open attitude, the fact that whatever I feel could be done better will always land on open ears, I feel they listen to the feedback and that Starschema thrives to improve with the help of these feedback.

Cons

Over the last ~5 years I've seen a lot of changes in the company. Some worked out, some didn't. There were mistakes made as well along the way for sure, none of which was enough to discourage me, and my experience is that Starschema came back stronger after realizing those mistakes and rectifying them. Work / life balance can depend on the project you are allocated to and the team lead you are with, but in the current market where there is more work/client than hands to deliver them, I feel Starschema has the power nowadays to say no to the unpleasant projects. It wasn't always like this in the past, but this is on a positive trend for sure lately.

Starschema has managed to acquire the best data science and data engineering talent in Hungary. If you are interested in big data or work in the field for a while, it's hands down the best place to gain experience and knowledge in the field and learn from the best. Starschema treats employees with respect and like adults: if you do a quality job on time, it's your call if you do it from the office, home or abroad, in the morning or in the evening.

Cons

Since covid, the otherwise top notch office is not as full of life as it seemed before.
