Pros
1. Very highly qualified people are associated with this platform. A competitive bidding process ensures that not only do the clients get the best bang for their buck but also the tutors and associates get fairly compensated for their work once they are hired. 2. The bidding process also ensures direct contact between clients and associates so there is no opaqueness. 3. The platform fee charged is very less. It is 30% of the bid amount for Standard tutors and reduces to 20% on being promoted to the Ivy League. 4. The flexibility of Studygate allows me to not only make good money but also develop and improve my skills in Maths, Science, Business, and Programming. 5. I go out of my way to provide step-by-step detailed solutions to the clients. The positive reviews from the clients give the motivation to consistently deliver high-quality work. Some reviews I got from the clients are 5a) "Very nice tutor, highly recommend! I will choose the tutor next time!" 5b) "Excellent help and feedback on time. was able to answer all questions asked on time with clear answer." 5c) "The best tutor in this platform! Good service and professional!!! Highly recommended!" 6. Students and clients are usually more concerned with the quality of work so they don't mind paying a premium for it if the quality is exceeding their expectations. 7. The co-founder of Studygate (Jacob) is also my mentor and supervisor. His Youtube videos helped me to develop freelancing skills and negotiate bids with clients. He is very supportive. I am grateful to have such an amazing mentor like him for life. Whenever I have any doubts I am able to directly contact him. Over time, he has become like my friend but I still respect him as my captain. 8. The Studygate blog is also nice as it clearly mentions all the rules for using the platform and also provides learning resources and best practices for online tutors. 9. Multiple withdrawals are allowed, presently 3 per month. There are also on-time notifications via email when a new order is posted or when a student invites to bid for a project or when a project delivery is approved by the client. The money is instantly credited to the tutor's wallet on approval of order- delivery by the client. To sum it all up, joining Studygate has been a very rewarding experience for me so far. I have successfully worked on and delivered 150 projects till now in the past 1-2 years.
Cons
There are no major cons. The only issue I faced is that there is seasonality in demand. So in some months like June and July when the demand is low ( colleges being shut after spring semester for 2-3 months ), it's hard to find work and earnings are low. Also, since there is no fixed pay it is sometimes difficult to sail through months when there is low demand.
