2 clashing cultures

Pros

Initially I worked at another software development company, which had a remote work enviroment, and extremely good outlook and atmosphere, which merged with a real state company to create Style Port. The original idea was to keep the same culture we already had, and to let the work style remain the same, and for at least a year for the most part this continued to be the case.

Cons

After the merger there was a clear divide between members of the previous 2 companies, and this divide never really dissapeared, and with time, all the promised rights and style of work that we were to maintain started to erode, specially because who became the top of the company was the old CEO of the real state company. He has no idea about anything IT related, and still more and more started to try to control more and more of the work flow we already had. And because we had a different culture, he just right started to hire new people to replace some of the positions already filled, just so that everything would work more like this CEO wanted. From my point of view it is a clear example of a merger gone wrong.
