Pros

Located in Chelsea. Good for transportation and lunch options. Whole foods on the corner is a huge plus.

Cons

I wish I read these review before I started. On the surface, the company seems very promising. They’re featured in Vogue, the clothes are well designed, they are perfectly located in Manhattan. HOWEVER, there is no way to make up for bad management. I have never written a review for a job before, so trust me when I tell you to stay away. First of all, their whole brand of sustainability and women’s empowerment is bull. The company is ran by two men. Their general manager/office manager is literally an office slave. This is not an overstatement. The office manager is also the human resources department, customer service department, the accounting department, vendor liaison, and personal assistant to the owners! I am not exaggerating. It was extremely uncomfortable for me to see them work her like that. She worked long hours, always looks stressed, and was extremely overworked. I was SHOCKED considering what the company stands for. I often came home really feeling sorry for her. Many of their business practices were unethical. Additionally, there are no office phones – everyone has to use their cell phone. When I left the company, they were behind on payroll, not paying their freelancers, and not paying overtime. By the time I left, the company was literally two pay periods behind and they pay bi-weekly. There was no notice and no proactive communication on their behalf. I had to check in to see if/when we would ever get paid. I was flabbergasted to say the least. On the digital side, they do whatever they can to avoid refunding customers when customers return an item. If an item is unavailable in a certain size, they will switch out the tag of a different size and not let the customer return is because it was “final sale”. Things like this kept me up at night. I have 10 years of experience and when I started working at this company I started to second guess my skillset and my worth in this industry. I knew something wasn’t right. Once I left, I realized how toxic the environment was. The owners are always in a bad mood and stressed out about something and take it out on the staff. I was not looking forward to coming to work each day. That attitude trickled into some of the staff which was depressing to be around. People wouldn’t even say good morning. No one ever smiles. It was a depressing environment. If you are young and trying to get your feet wet in fashion, take a chance if you want. You will definitely get a first hand view of how NOT to run your company. If you are seasoned and experienced, trust me on this – its not worth it. I doubt the company will be around much longer.

Overall Horrible Place to Work

Pros

You get a true look into a small company. The location of the office isn't terrible. Everyone besides the owners are lovely to work with.

Cons

You are getting a true look into a terribly run company. The owners are incredibly disrespectful to their employees. Have a tendency to not pay part time or freelance employees. Their whole ethos of sustainability and respect to women is fraudulent and disingenuous.
