Supportive and friendly teams

Pros

Managers are open and supportive. They teach a great deal and want to make sure you succeed, hence whole team succeeds. Great and fun company outings like beach volleyball, restaurant, and various outdoor activities.

Cons

Pay is strictly commission based, so if you don't have the right mentality in sales - you won't do that good. Long hours and not great of a work-life balance.

Great start in sales

Pros

I came into the company with zero sales experience and the desire to learn. They have such a great onboarding and training program where you meet every morning to train and practice with some of the best sales people in the company, as well as give you a playbook to guide you in targeting the right customers and how to do it. People pay thousands of dollars for this kind of training. I grew so much from it and stepped outside of my comfort zone to really learn how to effectively sell. Also, very flexible daily schedule. You make it your own.

Cons

Base pay will be on the low side, but you have to be willing to hustle and put in everything you have to learn how the sales game works to meet goals and increase your profit. I took on the role to learn, so it took me longer to see that pay increase, so it essentially lowered my base pay making it difficult for me to stay in the role financially. Also expect early AM starts.

Pros

- The Team - Everyone is supportive and fun. - Management - They're very encouraging and try to help you improve as a salesman.

Cons

- Hours - You have to be there early and leave late for team meetings before and after working in the field. Weekly team outings, while fun, are mandatory. - Compensation - The pay (only commissions) is terrible unless you're making a lot of sales, which they say is achievable with hard work but in all honesty requires that plus a lot of luck. I heard the most successful salesman openly admit to lying to customers to get sales!

Hi Reviewer! Thanks for your feedback. We definitely try to be as upfront as possible during the interview process and online. In the ads, the website, and the Leadership Development Program website, we try to spell out all of the details for anyone to see. We state very clearly that we do direct sales on behalf of our clients and we meet with business owners face-to-face. Our clients are strict about the way we represent them and we definitely do not support anyone misleading customers in order to complete a sale. We are confident that by following the training that we provide, sticking to systems and conducting ourselves with integrity and professionalism, one can definitely succeed. We understand that sales are challenging. We appreciate you taking the time to review us and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The So Cal Group is a great way to build your character and learn the B2B. Coming from a retail background they sure help me realize that B2B is much more difficult to approach. If you're a shy person, this is a great way to help develop those communication skills. Great resume builder also, everyone there has the right mindset of going out there and making money. If you're a person that enjoys challenges I suggest applying at The So Cal Group. One thing that I use now a days and its thanks to them is how to read people, I use this in my job and personal life and it makes things a lot easier. Thanks So Cal Group. Understand your product real well other wise you're going to have a hard time.

Cons

Long hours of working which starts off with getting their at 8 am sharp and at 10:30 you're off to the field. The latest you will leave is 6-7pm, its a Business to Business so yes you have to walk to every single small business and sell them something they are most likely are familiar with and don't want or are not interested. Many small businesses will kick you out because they don't want solicitors. The pay is bad, your better of working in a retail than in this place for the amount of hours. Your first paycheck which includes training and no sales is $300. If you do not sale, you don't get anything it is all commission based. Most people work Saturdays and Sundays just to get a sale. Your given a location and thats your location for the week. Gas is covered by you and not the company so you're better off carpooling with someone else.
