Thanks for your feedback, and it's disappointing to hear this was your experience. Since your review, over six months ago, we've increased the number of our creative and programme management teams to make sure we've got the right balance of people to manage the work we have.
We're also proud of the diversity of the business in the UK, and our equality policy is pretty clear on this: we promise to treat you equally, no matter how old you are; if you have a disability; which gender you identify as; if you’re married or not; if you’re pregnant; what race you are; where you come from; what your religious beliefs are, or who you’re attracted to. We welcome everyone.
We've also recently carried out benchmarking of our pay and benefits. We're pleased to say that we found ourselves to be competitive compared to other small/medium sized businesses in our sector, and we're working hard to make sure everyone understands all the benefits they get working here.
We also go out of our way with the non-financial stuff like our Random Act Awards, where colleagues nominate each other where they see our Writer Qualities being demonstrated each month. The lucky winners get a nice treat to say thanks for showcasing what makes us who we are as a business.
Sometimes, as a tone of voice business, we speak frankly and are up front about things. It's part of our culture and we're proud to practise what we preach. But we also get that not everyone feels comfortable doing this straight off and, like I said earlier, we welcome everyone. If you'd like to give me a bit more info, feel free to drop me a note at hr@thewriter.com and I'll pick it up from there.
