Good location and flexible work options, but overwhelming workload
Pros
office is in a good location and there’s a good balance of wfh and office working days.
Cons
- Heavy workload with frequent overtime, including weekend work, which felt normalised within the team. - Poor work-life balance due to consistently high workloads and long working hours. - Interns often shoulder significant responsibilities, sometimes managing accounts or taking on work typically expected of full-time employees, without proportional recognition or compensation. - Very steep learning curve with limited onboarding, making it challenging for those who are new to the PR industry. - Mentorship quality can vary. I personally found that I received limited guidance and support from my direct supervisor, which made it difficult to navigate the role. - Resource allocation could be improved. Account managers often handle multiple accounts simultaneously, resulting in interns taking on additional responsibilities to fill gaps. - Some internal initiatives (e.g. intern presentations) felt like a low priority given the already demanding workload. - Management could be more receptive to employee feedback and place greater emphasis on staff well-being in practice, not just externally. - There appeared to be a disconnect between the company’s public employer branding and the day-to-day employee experience.
