Pros

I was hired to assist in expanding the portfolio of products and services sold by the company. Friendly, welcoming staff willing to assist with the onboarding process for new hires. Fun work place environment at first, where the owners are enthusiastic and have built a profitable business for themselves selling low margin hardware equipment. Salespeople can make a decent living if they're willing to work on straight commission.

Cons

Owners are not innovators to the business. Change and growth is a frightening proposition so don't fall for the trap when being asked for input. You will only offend them and alienate yourself in the process. This company is set in their ways and resists outsider feedback on how to expand their business model. Owners are control minded, phony and arrogant with big egos and intimidating personalities, especially if your opinion doesn't match theirs. Company lacks strategic customer engagement process and prefers transactional selling environments (order takers).
