I should have listened. Don't waste your time with these people.
Pros
You will work with cool people who are also being abused by the owners and will be able to commiserate. When we would talk it was like we were begging each other for help via eye contact. Customers are interesting people and if you're passionate about Nordic culture/community it may help you stay there longer than you probably should.
Cons
This is the worst place I've ever worked. When I would defend my work performance it would enrage the owner who would double down on her incorrect criticisms and then deflect when she realized she was wrong. Owner is a belittling, micromanaging control freak. No leadership or delegation skills whatsoever, just smart aleck comments while wondering why the business is tanking. Refuses to listen to employees about the conditions and laughs at suggestions. If you call them out they see you as a threat they will fire you. If you disclose disability they will fire you before you have the ADA in. They like to act like they care about local but they're just gentrifiers who act like they're poor and picking themselves up by the bootstraps but really they just suck. They also are union busters who like to pretend to be hip working class unique friendly neighborhood restauranteurs. They do not care about you.
