Pros

*Once you get used to delivering and "following the mail", you gain a perk of knowing how to navigate in areas you've never been to before. *After you're comfortable with that, the work becomes second nature to you and it is actually very calming. *GREAT PAY once you turned regular carrier but you're also working LOTS of hours.

Cons

*Turning into career position could take up to two years, but lately carriers are converting in less than 14 months. (Even seen some cases where some are converting before a year depending on their seniority standing) *Being sent to other station all around the city when they are in need of help. (not that it get harder to deliver at other station if you're used to following the mail, but some station set you up either for success or it's completely a miss. 50/50 really..) Some station would set up your route to the point where all you're doing is grab and go since you have no idea about the area you are in but I've been to station where you're casing a route you've never even know that street exists.
