My experience as a teacher

Pros

The company offers a lot of support related to processing work permits and visas. They also provide school materials so you can come to school prepared. They offer stable schedules throughout the school year and payments have always been on time. Overall a very professional and supportive company.

Cons

There are some minor challenges, such as large class sizes and occasional schedule adjustments, but these are common in public-school teaching. Overall, the support provided by the company helps teachers manage these situations effectively.

Pros

- The management are actually normal, reasonable people - They care about their job and the 'mission' - Understandable with time off and if not then can explain valid reasons for decisions.

Cons

For public school teaching generally, hours are irritating as lessons start as early as 7/7:30, and don't end until 4-5pm, but there is an almost 3 hour break in the middle of that (and 1/2 hour morning and afternoon breaks). Consequently, you only really work around 4-5 hours per day usually, but you're out your house (unless you return for lunch) for more like 9-10 hours. - The first point I made (being out for 9-10hrs but only working 4-5) also means you are not actually paid that much, even though the hourly rate is very good. Many people take additional work at language centres in evenings but then what time do you have left? LC's nearly all require weekends. I also took Saturday morning public-school hours to boost my pay. Quite a task to keep it up without burnout if you also want an active social life. - Though the company management is good, antisocial, they say there will be regular socials but really theres actually only 1 or 2 every 3 or 4 months. You work with a TA but unless your school has enough classes that it uses two teachers, you are not going to really meet other foreign workers. Means that it can be hard to meet people through work.

Pros

I was initially a bit hesitant about joining any company when coming to Vietnam, simply because I wasn’t familiar with the country. But I couldn’t have been more wrong. From the moment I stepped off the plane, I’ve been well looked after. The company has been incredibly supportive and offers some great benefits—health insurance being just one of them and a foreign management team was helpful

Cons

Not as of yet - some of the schools schedules change - but that's simply out of the companies hands and they do their best there
