Pros

Working with the best coworkers, friends, and management. Teaching underprivileged and people who have disabilities.

Cons

With the amount donated to this program, you’d think they could afford paying experienced instructors who are specialized for adaptive needs a livable wage. In SLC, the living wage has increased immensely. It’s sad to see instructors are expected to give so much, at a wage that is lower than a fast food joint like McDonald’s. Lead instructor wage is not sustainable either.

Pros

The most supportive and positive work environment I’ve ever been in. I would have loved to move up in this organization if positions were available (it’s a small management staff). The participants and their families have the best attitude and senior staff was always available and willing to teach newer staff. Great teamwork.

Cons

It’s hard to do the instructor job full time and not get burnt out. Management does a good job to address instructor fatigue and encourages most instructors to work part time with another job. As a small non-profit, pay isn’t the highest, however other resort benefits definitely make up for that.
