1. Toxic Leadership: The team leader (in my case) was often unprofessional—mood swings, favoritism, and taking things personally were common. Constructive criticism wasn’t welcome, and emotional outbursts made the work environment tense. Not to mention she would scream at you, in front of everyone, about your fault. She would be checking your personal chat in Dingtalk.
2. Unfair Probation Termination: I was terminated within my first month during probation without proper feedback or prior warnings. The reasons given were vague and unsupported by clear evidence. The team leader badmouthed me to our supervisor in China. It felt more like a personal vendetta than a professional decision.
3. Poor Team Culture: The overall atmosphere was not welcoming. Some colleagues were dismissive and didn’t reciprocate greetings or small talk, which made it hard to feel like part of the team.
4. Lack of Professionalism: Instead of addressing issues transparently, the management would compare employees to others (e.g., showing other people’s performance during meetings), which was demotivating and unproductive.
