Halloween is almost a week away and while our remote work mandate won’t allow us to celebrate together this year, we’re connecting virtually to celebrate in a new way! Our US team is taking place in a pumpkin carving contest while our Mexico team is decorating their own traditional calaverite of clay! Working from home since March, our teams, by now, have all settled comfortably into our work from home offices, navigating the ups & downs and pros & cons that come with all things working remote. While comfortable in our new atmosphere, we’re focusing on how to adjust to change in work culture, shining a spotlight on mental health and wellbeing to learn how to cope with the ups and downs as they come. Through our Covid Coping Mechanisms series, we’re sharing advice from members of our leadership team on how they’ve adjusted, sharing tips and tricks for being successful at the home office, and some fun insights into how they manage life working from home. We believe the best teams are happy and healthy in their work! This week, we brought team members into the office for a socially distant headshot and flu shot clinic for a chance to dress up, safely get out of the home office, and practice a little health prevention. Focusing on overall mind and body wellness, the event was aimed at helping employees’ prep for flu season while also taking time to do a little something for themselves – dress up to feel their best! As a leader in environmental, health, & safety, and compliance and quality management solutions, we are also helping our subscribers practice these qualities too! At Gensuite, the many contributions of our global team members are what make us so unique. With offices around the world, we are better equipped to serve our subscribers, offering insights into their needs based off geographic expertise and cultural norms. How has the Covid-19 pandemic changed your work life? Our global Gensuite teams have been working remotely since March and while we’ve settled comfortably into our favorite “workplace casual” attire, we are continuingly looking for new ways to connect with each other for some virtual face-to-face time. Our various teams like New Subscriber Development, Business Development, and Marketing have found a great use of Teams to meet regularly for virtual happy hours to connect and unwind. On a recent call, they anonymously answered some fun questions about themselves ahead of time, that were shared with the group to guess whose answer was whose! We are passionate about connecting with others – not only our partners, subscribers, and greater EHS community – but our valued team members. While our global teams have been working remotely since the Covid-19 outbreak, we’ve continued to look for new ways to meet and engage with them. Recently, we held a new hire event at a local park in Cincinnati, OH to meet up with all of the team members who’ve been hired during the remote work mandate. From virtual meetings to actual face time, it was great to catch up, meet face-to-face, and learn more about each of our co-workers in this socially distant, meet and greet! A Reflection on Learning Company Culture: Starting a job during the pandemic, the biggest challenge I faced was learning our company culture through virtual meetings instead of face to face with colleagues. I started with Gensuite 1 week after our global team began working remotely and in fact, only met 2 of my co-workers in person in my first 6 months! I was given the opportunity to sit in on an interview with our Founder & CEO as part of an award win from Inc. 5000 as one of the 2020 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America. During the interview, he shared our culture and core principles contributing to our success; a valuable chance to hear first-hand what makes Gensuite tick. What I found was, Gensuite was founded on providing best-practice solutions quickly and easily configurable to individual subscribers, focused on personalized customer service and collaboration to build solutions together. Happy Labor Day to all of our employees, peers, and communities celebrating the long weekend. A holiday established to celebrate the achievements of laborers in the United States during the Industrial Revolution, today we continue to honor employees for their hard work and dedication. The Gensuite Summer of Giveback initiative is coming to a close as summer begins to wind down. As part of our philanthropy efforts, Gensuite employees were charged with finding opportunities to giveback in the community all summer long and we?re proud of the contributions our team was able to make. Sponsoring organizations to donate meals to the homeless, providing necessities to families, sharing some encouragement and positive messages to seniors in isolation, giving back to Black Lives Matter, donations to support Covid-19 relief, and so much more, our team members were busy this summer!
