Diwali came early at Maryland, U.S.A.! HSCians at our headquarters, celebrated the festival of lights, Diwali, with much joy and vigour as they were accompanied by the extended members of the Hughes Systique Corporation (HSC) family. It was the young ones who mesmerized everyone with their amazing performances with HSCians and their better halves also showcasing their hidden talents of dancing and shayari to make the celebrations even grander! After racking their brains with an informative quiz on the theme of cricket during the World Cup season and a game of Tambola & Jeopardy, everyone indulged in a sumptuous Diwali feast, featuring an array of delectable Indian appetizers and dishes, ensuring there was something for every palate. The venue was aesthetically decorated with rangoli, lamps and the traditional diya, giving it not just a festive vibe but also that of the celebrations in India.
Mr. Sushant Jain, Systems Design Engineer and Mr. Shubham Jain, Consultant, Hughes Systique Corporation, attended the 3rd International Conference on AI - ML Systems, an initiative of the COMSNETS Association. The conference took place at The Chancery Pavilion in Bengaluru and aimed to examine how immense strides in AI/ML techniques are made possible through advances in computational systems. The discussions also explored how the use of AI/ML can help in the data-driven explorations of the design space of the computational systems. The conference was attended by representatives from organisations like Walmart, TCS Research, Dream 11 & Games 24x7 among others. The keynote speakers presented with their views on model optimizations, usage of AI/ML in material science to optimize the product delivery timelines, healthcare and molecular biology for personalized prescriptions. In addition to the 35 research papers that were presented by participants from industry and academia at the conference, key demos were also presented by research scholars which showcased different aspects of AI such as distributed model training, material inspection at edge.

Mr. Tarun Singhal, SVP – Engineering, Hughes Systique Corporation, was invited to take part in AMCHAM’s interactive session on GCCs (Global Capability Centres) and NextGen Technologies. The session was organized in association with KPMG India at their office in Gurugram. The session’s purpose was to deep dive into the world of new age technologies and understand its tremendous potential. It witnessed participation from various GCCs in India covering range of industry verticals. Partners from KPMG presented their findings about India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), how it impacts the GCCs and how it compares to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). During the discussion about the uses of Generative AI for businesses and how they are being used, Mr. Singhal talked about function specific copilots to improve productivity. He also discussed the future of Generative AI, innovative business solutions, and the potential of Gen AI with the participants. Mr. Singhal concluded the discussion by sharing his insights about some of the challenges related to Generative AI especially around Data Engineering, Cost, and IP issues.
Mr. Sanjeev Dosajh, AVP – Administration and Ms. Jaspreet Kaur, Director – Corporate Communications & Sustainability, Hughes Systique Corporation, participated in a roundtable discussion on the “Future of Work”. The roundtable discussion was organized by nasscom and JLL at JLL’s office in Gurugam, Haryana. It was attended by CXOs, CHROs, CRE Heads and industry leaders from different sectors. Mr. Dosajh and Ms. Kaur discussed the topic of Workspace in a ‘Phygital’ World with the panellists. Mr. Dosajh talked in detail about how organisations are redesigning their workspace to suit the emerging work environment and stressed on maximizing the use of technology and architecture for an engaging and happy workplace. Ms. Kaur shared her insights on steps taken to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture to foster innovation, creativity and over all wellbeing of employees. She also highlighted the need of engaging the millennials and GenZ to architect the working, work places & work culture of future.

Mr. Kirnapure was joined by industry experts and leaders as co-panellists for the session at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Innovation though learning has always been at the core of Hughes Systique’s foundational values and Hackathon has been an integral part in inspiring the next generation of engineering leaders and mavericks among our ranks. Back after a pause of three years, Hackathon 2023 was conducted across our two R&D Centres in Gurgaon and Bengaluru. The participants at both the locations racked their minds over the problem statements shared with them and gave their best in this 12-hour long festival of ideas. It was then left for the judges panel to go through multiple solutions and review thousands of codes to finally adjudge team Sensor Savants, comprising of Mr. Brijesh Jivani, Mr. Kalpesh Lakum and Mr. Rahul Mahant as the winner of Hackathon 2023. Team HNS NFV was the runner up with Mr. Anurag Chadha, that Mr. Akshat Pareek and Mr. Kushagra Gupta representing the team. Ashutosh Bansal, Mr. Hemant Kumar Bansal and Mr. Kuldeep Varshney’s team X came up with the solution with the most potential.
Mr. Deepak Sehrawat, Director – Engineering, Hughes Systique, was invited as a panellist at the 13th edition of Confederation of Indian Industry’s Manufacturing Innovation Conclave. The session was themed on “Future Forward: 5G, Gen AI, and Industry 4.0 Powerplay”, and his co-panellists represented organisations and academia like Deloitte India, AT&T India and FORE School of Management. The conclave was attended by over 200 participants at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Delhi. Mr. Sehrawat shared his views on the impact of 5G and Generative AI on the evolution of Industry 4.0. He addressed how manufacturers can harness the power of generative AI to innovate and gain a competitive edge across different sectors and ways through which the high-speed, low-latency capabilities of 5G can enhance the use cases of Industry 4.0. Mr. Sehrawat also talked about the challenges that SMEs may face in adoption of these technologies and discussed the steps to mitigate those challenges.
Mr. Vinod Sood, MD, Hughes Systique Corporation, attended a panel discussion on, “Emerging Trends in SatCom: An India Perspective”, at Confederation of Indian Industry’s International Conference on Space, which was held in Taj West End Court, Bengaluru. The two-day conference was attended by over 300 delegates and luminaries from various sectors and representing government institutions and organisations like ISRO, DRDO, NSIL, HAL, Dassault Systems, OneWeb, Deloitte, L&T Defense and Immarsat India among many others. Mr. Sood initiated his address by explaining to the audience and panel on how SatCom technologies could help in bridging the digital divide in India and promote equitable access to communication and information services in remote areas to provide basic services like education and healthcare using tele-SatCom services. He also talked about the key challenges and how can collaborations between foreign companies, legacy Indian organizations, startups, and government bodies could contribute towards solving them. Mr. Sood concluded the session by sharing his insights about a truly connected world given the emergence of high-throughput satellites and the integration with 5G networks and IoT and also the remarkable impact it will have on other industries.
