The year 2023 not only brought with it a lot of possibilities but primarily it will be remembered as the year when HSCians got together after 3 years to celebrate HSC & HSCians! Reunited with our colleagues, friends and mentors who came down flying from the different parts of the globe, to attend the Annual Planning & Sales Meet and HSConverge 2023, we spent the evening merrily with fellow HSCians. Be it cheering for your team’s accolades to singing along the melodious group of HSCians, we did it all in unison from Gurugram, Bengaluru and the US. With some stellar performances, celebration of awards, great music, food & company, it was certainly a memorable evening. Beginning the year on a positive note, has us excited to create even more memories ahead.
The new year starts with a bang at Hughes Systique Corporation (HSC) with the return of its annual flagship event, Tech Day 2023! After a hiatus of nearly 3 years due to the pandemic, at this year’s Tech Day, 35 demos from different engineering departments, groups and projects were presented at the Gurugram campus. The exchange of ideas, innovative practices, and display of the prowess of HSC’s creative engineering minds is what separates each Tech Day from the previous one. With different tech like Wireless & Networking, Applications & QA, Connected Devices and NIES, IT and Embedded presenting their solutions on each floor, the creatives and content both were quite informative for all the projects and thereby created a huge impact and value for the sales and engineering teams alike. As the excitement over the innovations are yet to subside, the teams are already geared up for the next year!
Team GateID, comprising of HSCians Mr. Amit Kumar Sanger, Senior Engineer, Mr. Raghav Sharma, Senior Engineer, Mr. Yatin Tomer, Associate Engineer and Mr. Rohit Pandey, Chief Engineer, won the 3rd Prize and were declared as the Bronze Champion in the First edition of ITU GeoAI Location Mention Recognition Challenge which was organized by The International Telecommunication Union’s Telecommunication Standardization Sector. The 4 months long open-problem challenge witnessed participation of over 25 teams and 100 participants from around the world. The winners of the challenge were announced in the finale ceremony.
Mr Rohit Pandey, Chief Engineer and Mr Raghav Sharma’s, Senior Engineer, Hughes Systique, authored paper on “Siamese-Discriminative Person Re-identification”, was awarded as Best Paper of Technical Session – 9 in the 3rd Innovations in Computational Intelligence and Computer Vision (ICICV – 2022). The conference was organised by the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering of Manipal University Jaipur. The authors through this paper aim to develop a network that can perform re-identification even when training and testing data distribution differ by using a Siamese network to compare two images for re-identification. The network proposed in the paper is a combination of a classifier-based feature extractor and a Siamese network. The proposed model was trained on the Market-1501 dataset and tested on MOT17, Duke-MTMC, and the MSMT17 dataset. The proposed network showed high levels of accuracy across the data sets which establishes the fact that this network can work well even though it was trained on a different set of data.
Today Hughes Systique celebrates its 17th Foundation Day. We would like to thank HSCians world over, for without them, the journey would not have been the same. Thank you!
The Christmas of 2022 was always going to be a special occasion as we see HSCians gradually coming back to the offices and celebrating the day with their friends and colleagues. But keeping with the hybrid format of celebration to include everyone in the festivities, Team Celebritee made sure that nobody was left out. The celebrations started from December 22 with Spot the Differences contest, and it was Ms. Ishu Singh who was the quickest with their observations and won this contest. Mr. Yashraj Singh Thakur deserves a special mention for he was just a few milliseconds shy of winning the contest. Now, is it really Christmas if Santa is not around? The most innovative and unique idea of Ms. Pooja Gera for the Secret Santa activity was rewarded. For the final Christmas Contest, it was Ms. Ishu Singh who looked the sharpest in the Christmas Selfie contest and was the winner of this contest as well. For Christmas is a festival that gets even better with family, there was no better way to celebrate it but with HSCians.
