At MakeMyTrip, RL/Bandit framework has helped our data scientists and product managers run many successful DS experiments. Having an in-house data science platform for RL/bandit experiments and a data platform feature store helped data scientists focus on algorithms and business metrics. Brick-by-brick, we are moving away from rules to ML models, and from static ML to real-time/semi-real-time learning. At MakeMyTrip, we have always taken pride in our ability to spot the right talent. While the war for talent continues to be a challenge, it has also given us an opportunity to evaluate alternate channels for hiring. One such channel that we evaluated is Fresh Graduate Hiring from Delhi University Campus from streams such as B.A, B.Com, B.Sc directly from campus. We hired our first batch of students, the young blood who we call the ‘Trail Blazers’ for roles across Product Development, Key Account Management, sales & Human Resources. While we joined this bandwagon of hiring graduates later than many, we were nonetheless surprised by these youngsters and pleasantly so.
