Does Red Hat offer relocation assistance?
Pros
Great physical office environment, decent teammates. Having worked at other orgs and experienced severe burnout I appreciate the proactive moves of the company for welfare in covid. Base pay lower compared to other tech firms but overall benefits package is generous. Burnout is not uncommon esp in sales support roles. Still room to grow depending on your stage of career, Senior management are nice compare to the rest of the industry. interesting product stacks Org in middle of pivoting to talk to c suite more than middle IT managers. this requires some changes culturally and in the marketing context
Cons
Lay offs as of April 2023 are concerning. Management said that it is not due to IBM but anyone with half a brain knows its linked to the dividend. everyone in the industry is likely going through the same thing, it’s still sad. Sometimes the way things work in global is incredibly dinosaur Not the most innovative company in the world for certain things. If you worked in b2c or consulting before, folks will find it interesting on how slow things are here. IBM claims to leave RH independent but with the recent layoffs that feels not truthful
Advice to Management
Stay the course, maintain our strengths. if the mask is off and we really need to be more corporate, let’s just say so without clinging to an image of a quirky and upstart culture that was from ten+ years ago

Does Red Hat offer parental leave?
Pros
From a pay/benefits perspective, Red Hat is excellent: affordable insurance options, extra company recharge days, paid parental leave, flexible WFH options, bonuses paid quarterly, tuition reimbursement, and even free employee access to Red Hat training and certification exams.
Cons
There are a lot of people who get roles that don't suit their expertise/background, internal roles go to someone who knows somebody, rather than the most qualified or for added diversity. This makes for messy and ineffective plans and execution. The company is matrixed and segmented in weird ways that oftentimes seem illogical for productivity and efficiency. Change management is atrocious and there are always several business shifting changes that occur each quarter before the last load of changes had a chance to be adopted. This has resulted is mass turnover. Now there are enormous gaps in tribal knowledge, because nobody documents anything, but if they did it would be outdated. So much of the work is spinning wheels because the business won't allow to slow-down and address systemic and root cause problems. Everything is just push through and survive to the next round of changes. And forget about measuring for success, reflecting on efficacy or ROI.
Advice to Management
Red Hat needs a COO. There needs to be more accountability for operations' performance, including leaders. Leaders should be able to articulate organizational/team goals that align with business goals. People should know what their roles are what is expected of them. Hire qualified professionals who have a proven track record of being effective in the actual work they will be performing in their role. Place value on people who are organized and good at organizing others. Balance freedom with accountability.
