      Store Associate Interview

      4 Feb 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ALDI (Chicago, IL)

      Interview

Aldi only hires through hiring events. Of course, during these events there are thousands of people applying for the same job. If you want to get noticed, I suggest that you dress professionally, smile, and shake the hands of the recruiters. At the event, all they require you to do is fill out an application. I suggest filling it out beforehand so that you look prepared. Also, attach a resume and cover letter with your application. A week after I attended one of these hiring events I received a call for an interview. They told me that this would be a three interview process and the first interview would only take about twenty minutes. At this interview, I met with the branch manager and the store manager. The branch manager basically went through my resume asked questions about each job and my educational history. I did not receive a call back after this interview. I am a recent college graduate and I told him that I am very interested in moving up in the company and possibly working for corporate someday. I think this ruined my chances; they saw me as overqualified and did not want to risk hiring me only for me to leave for a better job soon after.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

For every job, they asked me either what was my favorite part of the job or what was the hardest part of the job.

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at ALDI (Bowling Green, OH) in Apr 2026

      Interview

It was a basic one on one interview where the manager went over the basics of the job and I concurred I had experience in all of the shelve stocking and customer service aspects of the job from my time as a Produce clerk. It lasted about 10 minutes and then I was asked to leave.
