I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Listowel) in Feb 2022
Interview
Thought I was doing well until the fact that I’m a parent was brought up and I was questioned was I willing to miss birthdays was I willing to work Saturdays that I wouldn’t see them off every morning etc. I said I understand I will be provided a roster so on those days I am due in I will be in and for any birthdays I want to go to I will use a holiday day. Apparently this wasn’t good enough Aldi are looking for people who will work 24/7 every day of the week and be available even on your day off
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do I have childcare organised for whole I’m at work, would I be willing to miss birthday parties, basically if your a parent I wouldn’t bother
When going in and out, the process felt very fast and hasty, but the responses given afterward were relaxed and calm, making the overall experience seem balanced and controlled smoothly.
A really interesting and informative interview with the amazing team and the great people who helped create this project with the great community and community and team members from across the country and the world and their work is so inspiring
I applied in-person. I interviewed at ALDI (Deal, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
Straight forward interview. Aldi didn’t allow me to the next stage of the process. Contacted Aldi recruitment. They don’t care, same with their social media. Company discriminates based on age, race and skin colour. I would avoid working for them.

Question 1
Tells us bit about yourself
Then had a group exercise where I took the lead and completed the task. I was invited to be interviewed for the position. But Aldi blocked me from booking a slot and didn’t even care when I contacted them. Won’t ever shop there again.
