      Cashier/Aldi Interview

      21 Dec 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Berwyn, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. I interviewed at ALDI (Berwyn, IL) in Dec 2012

      Interview

Went inside the store with my resume and to meet with the store manager for an application I filled out the app in front of him and about a month later I got a call back for an interview...asked very basic questions lik any other job interview but focused mostly on previous employment what I did there, how many hours do I work, etc...and told me that I was going to be going through 3 rounds of interviews..after the first one I was notified that I would get a call on the following Monday if I passed round one...I ended up getting a call tht Monday saying tht I made it to round two..I went to the second interview this morning at 9:30 (showed up 30 minutes early they really like when you show up early) with the same district manager as the first but there was also another district manager in the room...the second interview reviewed what we talked about in the first interview and then started asking me more questions about my employment at my current workplace then moved into asking questions like what if I saw a co worker stealing what would I do?..have I ever let somebody whether they were a friend coworker or family member get away with getting a free item by not scanning it...have I ever stolen or seen anyone steal money/items before etc... Then moved into asking me about drug use...have I ever used drugs within the last 2 years...then the second district manager came in and asked me another question about why did I quit one of my previous jobs...it was lik he was looking for another reason as to why u quit because something seemed different to me...due to his failure in looking at my application he didn't know I was in school at the time a d working two part time jobs til 1a.m.....overall the interview went well but I do feel that torwards the end it felt lik an interrogation almost...the district manager who I originally had the first interview with told me again he will give me a call tht following Monday...so I am now hoping and praying that they call me back...this is a full time position starting at 12.65 with a raise every year and after 3 months benefits start coming for you..patiently awaiting...There qualifications are to be able to lift at least 45 lbs..be fully available from 5a.m-11p.m although most location close at 9p.m and on Sundays 7pm depending on the location and most importantly I think people need to know which is important they only work with college students if yur applying for a part time position you will get 0-20 hours sometimes more by request but if your full time they will NOT work with your schedule at all...so that's all so far I know this helps but I tried to be as detailed as possible :-)...hope this helps I will post again if I get a call on Monday from the district manager...it is now Friday.
