I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ALDI (Saint Peters, MO) in Sept 2020
Interview
Pretty easy and straightforward. First meeting is with the store manager and a second interview includes the district manager. The interview with the district manager is a little more intense than the interview with the store manager, but they are all typically situational questions.

Situational questions to determine level of customer service experience and mindset.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at ALDI (Vernon Hills, IL) in Apr 2026
Interview
Very odd interview. Joint video call where they barely ask you anything and don't provide much information. Everyone was only asked one question. It was uncomfortable. Wouldn't accept even if they offered.
Standard interview process with common retail-related questions, covering customer service, sales experience, conflict resolution, and teamwork. Straightforward, predictable format—no surprises—focused on assessing communication skills and fit for a fast-paced retail environment.

Question 1
Can you tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult customer and how you handled it?
It only took about 5 minutes, the interviewer asked me general interview questions and showed me around the store. It was supposed to be a group interview but I got there 10 minutes early so I guess I got to do it alone
