I had experience with Aldi Sud Holding twice and both were quite frustrating. I will focus on the recent one. I was contacted directly by Aldi HR Specialist asking if I am interested in the position that was open at that time. First level interview went well, professional, fast and straight to the point. However next level interview with line manager was very strange. Interviewer was not prepared, instead of announced duration of 1 hour, it was max .20 minutes and questions were like “Have you ever been to Salzburg?”. Not even one question was related to the job. After few days I received an email saying that they decided to proceed with further candidates and I asked for the feedback since I really wanted to understand what do they base their decision on. No reply. This is very negative candidate experience and I made up my mind that Aldi just tries to demonstrate that they have a unique “people” culture, but the reality is different.
