I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in Jul 2024
Interview
It was actually not too bad. They mostly asked behavioral questions and if you actually take a second to process, you can usually tell which leadership principle they want you to answer. They asked a lot of follow up questions so make sure your story is real or at least prepare hard enough for it. Also prepare to back up your answers with data and metrics. They also expect you to answer based on your years and amount of experience.
It started off with a recruiter call, then a call with the hiring manager, then a call with other people and the bar raiser.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why do you think you're a good fit for the role?
3. Tell me about a time when you didn't have enough data to make the right decision.
4. Tell me about a time when a team member was struggling at work and you stepped in to help out.
5. Tell me about a time when you were able to deliver an important project under a tight deadline
Did a test task and was called by HR almost immediately for the next round. But salary range (full packet with stock and benefits) and return to office policy did nit much my expectations
very standard. the interviewers had a set of questions to ask about the LPs so we can anticipate beforehand. But I think I got ghosted in the end. One of the interviewers told me about the 2 & 5 rule but its been more than 2 weeks since my last interview and still no response from anyone so idk what happened.
Lengthy, messy schedule, interviews canceled last minute, interviewer late. Rude, disrespectful and dismissive approach toward candidate. Majority of people were from a different team so had no clue about the specifics of the position when asked in the final Q&A. If they treat you like this before joining, can’t imagine after. Application withdrawn.
