It was 2 rounds, behavioral mostly... very friendly interviewers, and I heard back within 10 days. Overall, they ask common behavioral questions that you should prepare for. My interviews were virtual, not sure if it is any different now

I'd say the he hiring process for interns is not well-organized. You have to upload your resume on the American Express website, and after a screening round, you'd receive a call from the HR manager inviting you to a video group interview on literally the next day - which means that if you are not available, you are directly rejected. I was told that this group interview would be divided into 2 parts: in the first part, candidates would be asked to apply the STAR method for specific scenarios (this is what also is stated on the email you'd receive after the call with the HR manager), and the second part would be based on business cases. However, the first part is analytical knowledge based - i.e., candidates are asked to work on a 2 pages Excel spreadsheet for 20 or 30 minutes and then send it back. It's not a lot of times considering you have to read carefully the instructions as well. Then, the second part is focused on business cases with a manager and the main goal for both the manager and the HR team is to evaluate and assess how candidates try to provide a solution to the business case, interact with one another, lead the conversation, etc. I'm 100% sure American Express is a great place to work, with great benefits, and with a pool of bright talents behind it, but the experience I had throughout the whole process in this case is definitely not positive.

It is very difficult to get an interview at American Express. Once you do, you have to interview with HR first, then junior members of the department before interviewing with the person you will actually work with.

I applied online. I interviewed at American Express
Applied online, recruiter reached out for screen, scheduled first round with hiring manager. Felt they were distracted and not fully engaged during the conversation. Afterwards, the recruiter never followed up on at least a rejection/feedback notification. Left mediocre taste in mouth

Had a phone screen which I thought went well but apparently it didn’t since I received a rejection email and when I followed up with the recruiter for feedback she ghosted me.

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Singapore
I interviewed at American Express (Singapore)
Did a case study on credit card promotional campaign, then interview. Interviewer was friendly and polite. Willing to find out candidate’s interest, strength and passion. More behavioural questions than technical.

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at American Express
Went through multiple rounds, everyone was friendly and asked mostly soft skill questions. I didn't end up going through with the full application process, because I got a different offer but overall it was very friendly.
